ASSASSINS IN THE TEMPLE OF LAANX

I recently became interested in jewelry. While I was cleaning some unpolished silver rings, I noticed a dermorian girl that behaved strangely. She was gasping, breathing heavily and looking around, eyes wide.
She was trembling she stumbled forward, leaning against the walls of Harnquists shop. She looked shocked.
I asked if something was wrong, but get no response. After a few questions, receiving no answer except for some disheveled gestures, I had an idea that may seem silly, but it worked: I gave one of the shiny rings that I was producing at that exact moment. Thanks to that extra charisma, supplied by the ring, the girl was able to recover the eloquence! I found out that way that a terrible crime had happened in the temple of Laanx, under the nose of Sharven and Menlil. The dermorian girl, whose name is Oretara, was the victim and she was just comming back from the Death Realm!
Here is an excerpt of our conversation:
O: "I'm just a bit.. Shocked."
Z: "What happened?"
O: "A... Dermorian boy killed me."
Oretara shudders at the thought.
Z: "Oh dear... that's... hmmm... unpleasant at least. Do you have any idea of why?"
O: "It's a long story. Well... I was sent by this sick Ylian at the hospital to get a friend of his. Ephidel I think. He was supposed to be at the Laanx temple."
Z: "So you went there... alone, right?"
Oretara nods.
O: "There were two Dermorians outside. More people than I've seen there before, really. One a man, the other a boy. They saw me and headed inside. So I followed. Thought maybe the Dermorian man was who I was looking for.
Z: "So it was a sort of trap. I'm sorry to ask this, but... they killed you with magic or with weapons?"
Oretara shakes her head. "Not really a trap... Oh. Well, the man was who I was looking for. Then he kind of ordered the boy to kill me... And..." Oretara bites her lip a little. "And he used weapons, yes. Swords I think."
X: "But... with no reason?"
Oretara shrugs. "I don't know the reason."
Z: "They was looking to rob you?"
O: "No."
This crime, in addition to being wrapped in mystery because of a lack of apparent motivation, raises a serious question mark on security in the temples, where people normally come together peacefully in prayer. I seriously hope that investigations are done to find the culprits.
MORE CHANGES IN THE BOUNTY HUNTERS MANAGEMENT

The Bounty Hunters is an historical guild of our dear Hydlaa. Born to provide a security service as well as a deadly weapon to help those who can not afford to get animal parts with their own means. Nevertheless, the guild has suffered several changes in the leadership which led it to dwindle.
My first contact with them was many years ago, when I was only a child. In those days I used to follow my aunt Raikana in her journalistic "missions", and during one of those trips I met Earowo. He seemed nice to me, but he turned out to be slightly despotic, which led him to be isolated from his companions (or vice versa).
The leadership then passed to Derator, but now I hear that Derator disappeared, and that there is have been no news about him since months! Here are the words of Gonger, who is currently heading the guild:
"It seems we lost Derator for good. I fear something happened to him. He was traveling, but no news, and my groffels come back empty-handed."
This disappearance puzzles me, but I can only wish for his quick return since there are no evidences of a crime. That said, Gonger confirmed that there have been some promising recruits recently, so there is no reason to fear for the future the guild.
SEIZURE OF THE RED CRYSTAL DEN

Since Dwanden 28 [January 10] the Red Crystal Den is under seizure by the Octarchs. The motivations seems simple: according to them the rules, by which the building had been assigned under management of Waesed, Damola and Sulaika (among others), have been broken. Actually I wonder what specific rule have been violated, since the Red Crystal Den had flourished under current management more than in past years. The fact is: now the door of the Den is barred by heavy wooden planks and an affix outside warns citizens about the seizure.
These are the reasons given:
1) As the building was awarded by The Octarchal Society for Progress, use of the building was expected to be maintained under the original agreement. For example as performing a consistent benefit for Octarchal citizens.
2) The enrollment of current management into the Red Crystal Den saw handled erroneously by several involved parties. The takeover of Octarchal property should not have been allowed without fully establishing the ability of the interested parties in maintaining or improving the impact the Red Drystal Den was having on the community. Hower, at the time the social function of the Red Crystal Den for the local community outweighed the consequences of this mishap.
3) There has been a lack of clear management or organisational structure, nor has been any indication of regular activities taking place within the Red Crystal Den.
4) The value of the Red Crystal Den as public space for social gatherings has been deminished due to his lack of activity. The result is that the establishment dues not meet the requirements set by the Octarchy for public properties, especially such prominent ones as the Red Crystal Den.
But, what do the former managers thinks about all this thing? Well... I was present when one of the current managers of the Den, my friend Damola, found she could no longer access the building, in which were also seized all her supplies of food and drink. I asked her to issue a statement but I got a resounding "no comment".
Some time later came Damola's response; a message gracefully surrounded by plants and flowers, in which she explained her resentment against the authorities. Needless to say that the message is now gone (along with flowers).
On the other hand I was able to interview Waesed the dwarf, who said: "Times have been hard and customers few. Get a little behind in rent and the Octarchy will just lock it up!They never even contacted me before taking it, but they can take whatever they want, whenever they want it! We own nothing!"
However the affix posted by the Octarchs warns the citizens that there are plans for restructuring the Den, which may soon become freely accessible to everyone, without the need for a key! Perhaps not all evil comes to harm, as long as the Octarchal Society for Progress maintains its word, and as long as they do not drink all the wine seized in the Red Crystal Den!
THE CONTINUED DISAPPEARANCE OF THE RIWE PAIR

Several months ago the healer and herbalist known as, "Demagul Riwe" disappeared from the Hydlaa Sanatorium after being brought in unconscious by some unidentified citizens. This Nolhrir, and friend of mine, was unconscious for weeks on which several acquaintances of his visited him regulary.
Demagul was a person who didn´t mind voicing what he thought of as right. He tried to see the best in people, a fact which seems to have brought him alot less surprises than what one would have thought possible, as far as i know. I came to know this Nolhrir on the day i first joined the university of Yliakum, a day near two cycles ago. The journey we have had together from that day has been full of turns and surprises, a gentle hearted Nolthrir and studious Lemur of not too rarely differing opinions.
We may have had our hardships, but by no means is this something that would have made this turn of event in the least part desireable.
Not long after this, demaguls wife, "Lialym Riwe" disappeared as well, stating that she would find her lost husband. Liaym, member of, "The Lost Knights" was an equally caring person as her husband, her heart big enough to accept a great many people, and a mind that tried to grasp all that passed her view by.
Despite the passage of the months we are still waiting for any information regarding the Nolthrir known as Demagul Riwe and his wife... will they ever be seen again?

"I'm lonely now. I wish the other two guys were back here!"
