<< EDITORIAL
After two years of inactivity, the most popular newspaper of the Dome is back. I will not go into the details of my long pilgrimage along the various layers of Yliakum, but I'll just say that at a certain point I realized that my path was here with you. Raikana, my aunt, left me a big task when she appointed me as her heir, but I'll take back my place behind the desk of Guilds & Traders Journal. 

This time I decided to make significant changes to our guidelines. First of all publications will take place every month and not every week. The newspaper will be distributed free of charge (even though we accept donations) and therefore the usual G & T Contest it will be dropped. 

Other changes have been made in the organization, layout and content, but that you gotta find out by yourself!

RARE GLYPHS AUCTION IN HYDLAA

Some days ago [Thursday August 15 2013] an unusual auctioneer held the stage in the Hydlaa plaza. He was an Yliam named Rinani Celay, and had a proposal that has whetted the interest of the wealthiest citizens: an auction of rare glyphs! 

Dozens of people answered the call of the auctioneer, whose rules were simple: ten mysterious glyphs could be acquired through a blind auction. Who wins the lot, must choose a number (initially from 1 to 10), without knowing the name or the features of the corresponding glyph. 

The auction was conducted smoothly, although in some cases there was a certain obstinacy from the participants, who did levitate the stakes to astronomical levels. But, how to blame them? They were disputing the possibility of obtaining glyphs as: Dome, Death, Sleep, Earth or Chaos (among others), not some useless trinkets!
The ten lucky buyers are listed below, along with the amounts paid for the valuable glyphs:


Qiner: 150.000 tria.
Menille: 600.000 tria.
Wrenn: 600.000 tria.
Kaerli: 610.000 tria. 
Cormah: 620.000 tria.
Sulaika: 860.000 tria.
Baugho: 1.000.000 tria.
Elhorien: 1.100.000 tria.
Evaraj: 1.100.000 tria.
Sanrai: 2.500.000 tria.

One final note goes to Llexx, whose inexplicable bad luck has surprised more than one person. After placing unbelievable offers for ten times in a row, he failed to grab the coveted glyph ... will be for the next time!
 
ELEMENTAL LIGHT CELEBRATIONS

Last week [Sunday August 11 2013] the Elemental Light guild held a sumptuous celebration in the Hydlaa Plaza. Anyone was invited to enjoy their good music and entertainment; indeed, many have decided to join the celebrations. Cormah amused the passers-by with a nice prize competition, using dice, and Kiaerulf played wonderful melodies on his instrument. While some people was playing Cormah's dice game, Rheos from The Way of The Hammer brought a gift from his guild, and delivered to Idoru as a sign of respect. Afterwards, Kiaerulf presented to the crowd an exciting quiz game, which we decided to transcribe for the readers of the Guilds & Traders Journal in the "Relax" section. The dwarf Gonger from Bounty Hunters was the star of the game, getting to answer the most part of the riddles.
All this entertainment served as introduction to a very special moment for the members of Elemental Light; many of them have been awarded with promotions, and the ceremonies ended with a bath in the fountain of Hydlaa Plaza. Here are the names of the promoted members, and their titles:

Cormah: Became Azure Master.
Anysu: Joined the Twilighters.
Enercota and Sanrai: Became Uber Tamers.

When I asked more information about the event, everyone has folded the task to someone else, so no one has really answered my questions except, in part, Kiaerulf. 

R: "Can you tell me the names of the organizers?"
K: "It was the Elemental Light. I don't think individuals should be credited."

R: "There are plans for future celebrations?"
K: "I don't know when the next one will be."

THE RACKET OF FOOD: 
AN ADVENTURE IN THE KITCHEN

When I was a child in the farm, my father always told me: "hands off from the cookies!". At that time I did not understood the meaning of those words, to me it seemed an injustice: if we produce the flour, why cannot we eat the cookies? Growing up, then, I realized that in fact it was not enough to have all the ingredients ... if dallying in the kitchen, everything I could obtain was a lousy sticky goo. Maybe that's why, at some point, a question naturally arose: is it possible that a farmer gains 250 tria  per month, while a single fine cookie costs about 300 tria? And, if possible, by the gods, how? That's how I decided to infiltrate the Food Association, to discover the mechanisms that lead cookies to cost 6000 tria per kilo, while gold can be purchased at 40 tria per kilo.
The reason is quite simple: the Food Association is a caste which completely controls the market of food through the control of the recipes. If you want to learn how to cook, you better begin to puff a member of Food Association, and not any one member: if you're a newbie and want to cook you have to talk Jomed, in the tavern of Hydlaa! Now you're probably thinking you're done! Just go to Jomed and everything is solved ... you do not know how wrong you are! Your ordeal has just begun. From now on you will be a puppet in the hands of (in this order): Jomed, Allelia and Archilaya. Eventually, if you're a good boy, you can get your hands on a wonderful book: "The Art of Baking." Once you get the book and learn the recipes [put the book in mind the slot, as usual], you can finally start to cook the much-precious Sand Cookies. Ah... and don't forget to find a good amount of: Strimptors, Butter, Floor and Salt.



INTERVIEW WITH EVILIA GLASSCANON: 
A LIFE DEVOTED TO EXPLORING.

Z: "First of all... you are an incredible climber. How did you got the inspiration?"
E: "I'm only a ranger. I hunt in forest, cook my own food and climb mountain to see the veiw. I like looking at scenery from high ground. Fresh air, no noise. I don't like noisy cities; too many people, too many sounds..."

Z: "So the nature is your inspiration?"
E: "I get inspiration from the beauty of the world, up there you can see the 'big picture', you can see the whole ensemble."

Z: "Can you tell me about the most incredible sites you have climbed?"
E: "I climbed many different sites, but it would hard to describe them all, all of them are special in a way...but this building right there is my favorite!" {editor note: it's the highest building in the square where Hamel hangs out...} "I really love the scenery there. You can see the whole city, and beyond!"

Z: "I think readers may be interested in knowing some good places to climb, can you name some?"
E: "Oh well, to practice, I like to walk on the wall of Hydlaa and Ojaveda. The top of the bamboo tree at Ojaveda is fun to climb too. Sitting on the throne in Death realm always felt a bit special to me too... But every rooftop available is fun too, Harnquist roof, for example. Let's say it's a really nice place to start as a beginner."

Z: "How can you identify a building on which you can climb?"
E: "Any building that have a grip you can grab, is a potential target."

Z: "This month we will be reviewing your book: 'Beguinnes guide to tria making'. What ca you tell us about it?"
E: "Well I came from a family that was at ease financially, coming to this world I realised I needed to make some money to pay for my lifestyle. So, since my father was an exceptional Architect and I spend a lot of time with him as a kid, I learned to use my head a lot so I figured many ways to make trias fast and simple. As my mum have always taught me to share my good life experiences, I took my notebook and put it in a book so many people would be able to read it."

Z: "How can people buy your work?"
E: "I'm trying to make this book available for everyone to see. I'm not selling this book, if you want a copy I'll gladly give it to you, or anyone else, but I do dream that one day it will be added to our nice library in Hydiaa. People that need this book need trias, I would feel terrible selling it to them. I'm not in it for the money; I only want to help out."

Z: "Do you have something to say to the readers?"
E: "I must say that this book was written because Xola, from Captains Riff Crew, asked me to, as she thought my ideas should be written down!"

Z: "Thanks again for your time!"
E: "No problem."

The "Beginner's guide to tria making" is definitely a recommended reading for all those who find it difficult to get the tria necessary for their needs.
